DAY 12 (BB) - Fréhel to St Malo - Mileage approx. 35 miles

Departing after the hotel after breakfast, today you'll make your final journey back to the port for your sailing to the UK. Arrival in Portsmouth is early evening

DAY 1 - (D) - Portsmouth to Caen/Mont-Saint-Michel - Mileage approx. 35 miles

Brittany Ferries Crossing from Portsmouth to St Malo followed by the drive through Normandy to Mont-Saint-Michel and the Mercure Hotel for your overnight stop where you'll have the opportunity to meet your fellow travellers at a welcome group dinner at the hotel.


DAY 2 (HB) - Mont-Saint-Michel to Douarnenez - Mileage approx. 200 miles

Departing Mont-Saint-Michel and the hotel after breakfast, today your routing takes you via the picture postcard town of Dinan, Saint-Brieuc, Morlaix and the Parc Naturel Regional d'Armorique and Loqueffret to Huelgoat, a very popular tourist destination with numerous attractions including the beautiful Huelgoat Forest with vast granite rocks, silver river and enchanted moss covered woods. Arrival in Douarnenez and the Hotel le Clos de Vallombreuse, your base for the next two nights should be late afternoon/early evening with dinner included at the hotel.


DAY 4 (HB) - Douarnenez to Vannes - Mileage approx.110 miles

Departing Douarnenez and the hotel after breakfast, today your routing takes you via Quimper to the coastal port of Concarneau before continuing along the coast via Lorient and Carnac to Vannes and the Mercure Hotel Le Port where you'll enjpoy a 2 night stay with dinner included.


DAY 5 (HB) - The Day at Leisure in the Vannes

The walled town of Vannes is without doubt one of Brittany’s most attractive sights and a must-visit on any trip to the Gulf of Morbihan. Wander around the well-preserved medieval streets before enjoying a harbour-side lunch then taking a boat trip around the gulf. Vannes is also an excellent base for exploring the glittering island-studded Golfe du Morbihan and the mesmerising neolithic sites in the vicinity.

DAY 7 (HB) - The Day at Leisure in Nantes & Board Criosi Europe MS Loire Princesse in Saint-Nazaire

The day is at leisure to relax and enjoy the sights and attractions in the area before a late afternoon transfer to Saint-Nazaire where you'll board Croisi Europe's luxurious River cruise ship, MS Loire Princesse. After settling into your cabins, you'll be introduced to the crew at a welcome cocktail followed and dinner. Secure car parking has been arranged at the Westotel for the duration of the cruise.

DAY 3 (HB) - The Day at Leisure in Douarnenez - Douarnenez is an attractive town on the coast with no fewer than four harbours. Soak up the unique atmosphere of its bustling quaysides and its narrow streets with their craft workshops and fishermen’s cottages. Then fill your lungs with sea air and enjoy the walk to Plomarch, the beautiful bay, the beaches just a stone’s throw away, and the isle of Tristan.

DAY 8 (FB) - Cruising from Nantes to Saint-Nazaire

This day is at leisure or you can join one of these optional excursions :

Morning Excursions:

CLASSIC : Guided tour of Nantes and the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany.

DISCOVERY: Nantes, the Machines de l'Île, secret courtyards and covered passageways.

Morning Excursions:

CLASSIC/DISCOVERY: Tour of Saint Nazaire, a town on the sea during which you''ll visit Escal'Atlantic, a museum that explores the historic ocean liner experience, and the Saint-Nazaire shipyard, one of the largest shipyards in Europe (this excursion must be booked in advance). Each passenger will be asked to produce a valid passport in order to gain access to the shipyard). We'll return on board in Saint-Nazaire with dinner and an evening of dancing.

DAY 8 (FB) - Cruising from Saint-Nazaire to Ancenis

You'll spend the morning relaxing onboard as you cruise towards Ancenis. In the afternoon, you can relax or join one of the optional excursions:

CLASSIC : The Muscadet Wine Route and Clisson, a charming medieval town.

DISCOVERY: Helicopter ride, the Loire from above (this excursion must be booked in advance)

The evening is at leisure on board with dinner and entertainment included.

DAY 9 (FB) - Cruising from Ancenis to Bouchemaine & Angers

Today you'll cruise towards Bouchemaine before continuing on to Angers. You have the choice of relaxing on board or joining one of the optional excursions:

CLASSIC : Guided tour of Angers, its historic districts and the famous Apocalypse tapestry.

DISCOVERY: Tour of Brissac castle and its cellars complete with a wine-tasting session*.

The evening is at leisure on board with dinner and entertainment included.

DAY 10 (FB) - Bouchemaine - Chateaux of the Loire / Ancenis

Enjoy a full-day included excursion for both packages to discover the Castles of the Loire Valley. For centuries, the Loire Valley has been the favoured retreat of France’s elite and its majestic châteaux are a symbol of its wealthy past. France is awash with magnificent castles and the Loire’s rolling hills and medieval towns are home to more than 300 of them, each revealing histories of passion, treason, murder and more. From fairy tale turrets to eerie dungeons, here are the most magical châteaux in the Loire Valley. You'll return to the ship in Ancenis.

Tonight you'll enjoy a gala evening and dinner on board as the ship sails towards Nantes.

DAY 11 (FB) - Nantes to Fréhel - Mileage approx. 130 miles

Disembarkation from the ship will be after breakfast followed by the transfer back to the Westotel to collect your car. Today your journey takes you north via Rennes and through Brittany where you'll enjoy an overnight stop at the Hotel De Diane in Fréhel with dinner included.

DAY 6 (HB) Vannes to Nantes - Mileage approx. 90 miles

Departing Vannes and the hotel after breakfast, today your routing takes you via Muzillac and Guerande to the coastal port of Saint-Nazaire where you can discover the unique maritime heritage, famous for its harbour facilities and shipyards! In the city's harbour, the former submarine base invites you to dive head first into this extraordinary world. At the Escal'Atlantic International Ocean Liner Centre, visit the cabins, explore the engine room, the wheelhouse... Climb aboard the Espadon submarine and plunge into the world of abysses, or stand speechless in front of the Chantiers de l'Atlantique, where cruise ships are built.  Arrival in Nantes and the Westotel for an overnight stay with dinner included.
